There are three ParaGard options available: ParaGard for Small Dogs and Puppies, ParaGard for Medium Dogs, and ParaGard for Large Dogs.
For dogs over 20 kg, administer appropriate combination of tablets
ParaGard treats and controls:
● Tapeworms, including hydatids
● Hookworms
● Roundworms
● Whipworms
ParaGard does not control heartworm in dogs. For heartworm control use HeartGard30®️ PLUS or for the most complete parasite protection in a single chew use NexGard SPECTRA®️.
Side effects are rare when ParaGard is administered according to label directions. ParaGard has a wide margin of safety for all sizes and breeds of dogs.
ParaGard for Dogs may be included in a treatment program with a heartworm prevention product such as HeartGard30 Plus.
Puppies: Treat according to weight at 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks of age
- thereafter every 3 months.
Adult Dogs: Treat every 3 months.
Breeding Bitch: Treat during the mating period, during the gestation period one week before birth and 3 to 4 weeks after birth.
Dogs in hydatid areas should be treated every 6 weeks.
Where whipworm is a problem, treat every 6-8 weeks after 3 months of age
ParaGard is not effective in the treatment or prevention of heartworm. For heartworm prevention, use NexGard SPECTRA or HeartGard30 PLUS.
