Dogs become infested with fleas from environmental infestation sites in the home or outdoors. NexGard rapidly kills adult fleas and is indicated for the treatment and prevention of fleas infestations and for the control of newly acquired adult fleas.  Following administration, fleas are killed within 6-8 hours.  The rapid speed of action means adult fleas are killed before they can lay eggs, helping to prevent infestations of the environment.  Treated dogs can acquire fleas from environmental sources but these will be killed rapidly preventing a reinfestation.
